I don't think it's as big a difference as some claim it to be, but there is a difference. That being said, I have a Tele with brass saddles, one with steel saddles, and one with a "modern" 6 saddle bridge. They all sound good to me. WebbBrass contains zinc, and you would never use that in a fuel system as it reacts with the fuel and can block precision injectors, filters etc. Stainless steel valves can be used but they are expensive in the larger sizes, so cast steel is the norm, with standard carbon steel piping of Sch 40 depending on the pressure rating.
