In deeper layers of the polyp, proliferation of fundic glands with some cystic dilatation was observed (Fig. 2a, b). At the surface of the polyp, focal cancer, which had well-defined borders with hyperplastic foveolar epithelium, was found (Fig. 2b). WebA diagnosis of Hyperplastic Polyposis Syndrome (HPS) was made, and total gastrectomy was done, and pathology revealed foci suggestive of intra-mucosal adenocarcinoma. The follow-up EGDs so far have been unremarkable except for some nonspecific reactive changes with FFH but no intestinal metaplasia.
